The HP sprocket keeps printing multiple photos at a time even when selecting one. Wasted all my paper. What can I do to correct this?

Hi @NoelleA

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like your HP Sprocket printer is printing multiple copies of the same photo even though you only selected one. This can happen due to various issues related to the print settings, app configuration, or even printer firmware. Here's how you can correct this:

1. Check Print Settings in the App:

  • If you're using the HP Sprocket app to print photos, make sure that the app is set to print only one copy.
  • Open the HP Sprocket app, select the photo you want to print, and before printing, double-check the number of copies setting. If it shows a higher number, change it to 1.

2. Ensure You're Selecting "Print One":

  • Sometimes, the printer might be set to print multiple copies by default. If you are using the HP Sprocket app or another app, ensure that you're selecting "Print One" and not selecting multiple copies.

3. Reset Printer Settings:

  • If the settings seem correct but the printer still prints multiple copies, try resetting the printer's settings to ensure there are no incorrect configurations.
  • To reset the printer, turn it off, then press and hold the power button for about 10-15 seconds while it's off. After that, turn it on and try printing again.

4. Check Printer Firmware:

  • An outdated firmware version can cause bugs, including printing issues like this. Make sure your HP Sprocket firmware is up to date.
    • You can check for firmware updates through the HP Sprocket app or by visiting the HP support website for your specific printer model.

5. Check Paper Insertion:

  • Double-check that you're inserting the photo paper properly. If the paper is not loaded correctly, the printer may misinterpret it and cause multiple prints.
  • Ensure you're using HP ZINK photo paper as other paper types might cause the printer to behave erratically.

6. Uninstall and Reinstall the App:

  • Sometimes, the app itself might have a bug or cached data causing the issue. Try uninstalling the HP Sprocket app from your phone, then reinstalling it and reconnecting the printer.
  • After reinstalling, test printing one photo to see if the issue persists.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
