Hello,
I purchased the Sprocket 200 from Amazon during black friday and have been experiencing some issues with the printing quality. I have since been trying to contact someone from HP however even before I can get in contact with an agent, it always asks for the serial number.
I have entered the serial number so many times and every single time, it states the serial number is not recognised.
As I am unable to move past this, I cannot even ask for help to sort out the main issue with the printer.
Please can I get some assistance with this.
Thank you,
Khadija.

Hi @KhadijaK,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to assist you.
Issues with print quality on your HP Sprocket 200 can stem from various factors such as paper quality, firmware, or device settings.
Let’s troubleshoot step-by-step to improve your printing experience:
1. Use Genuine HP ZINK Paper
- Check Paper Type: Ensure you're using genuine HP ZINK Photo Paper. Non-HP paper may result in lower-quality prints.
- Reorder Paper: Ensure the HP ZINK Photo Paper is correctly stacked with the blue Smart Sheet at the bottom.
2. Clean the Printer with the Smart Sheet
- Each pack of HP ZINK Photo Paper includes a blue Smart Sheet. Run the Smart Sheet through the printer to clean the rollers and optimize print quality:
- Load the Smart Sheet into the Sprocket with the barcode facing down.
- The printer will automatically run the sheet before printing the next photo.
3. Update the Sprocket Firmware
- Firmware Updates:
- Open the HP Sprocket app on your phone.
- Connect the Sprocket 200 via Bluetooth.
- Go to the Settings menu (gear icon) in the app.
- Check for firmware updates and install them if available.
4. Adjust Print Settings in the HP Sprocket App
- Open the photo you want to print in the Sprocket app.
- Use the editing tools to enhance brightness, contrast, and sharpness.
- If the colors are off, use the Color Adjustment option.
5. Check the Photo Source Quality
- Ensure the photo resolution is high enough for a 2x3-inch print. Low-resolution images may appear pixelated or blurry.
6. Reset the Printer
- If the issues persist, reset the printer:
- Turn off the Sprocket 200.
- Locate the reset pinhole (near the charging port).
- Insert a pin and hold for 3 seconds until the device resets.
7. Ensure Proper Lighting and Storage
- Store the photo paper in a cool, dry place.
- Avoid exposing the printer to extreme heat or direct sunlight.
Please mark this post as “Accepted Solution” if the issue is resolved and if you feel this reply was helpful click “Yes”.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a great day ahead!
