I have the same issue that a few others are having with the Sprocket Studio pausing after sending to the printer Que. I followed the trouble shooting steps provided to another member and after repeated attempts, I got my sprocket to print 3 photos. I tried doing the same steps again multiple times and I’m not having any luck. Any ideas on how to resolve or did this become an expensive paperweight?

Hi @Melly-Mel904,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding HP Sprocket Studio printing issues!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

Try these steps:

Check Bluetooth Connection: Ensure your device (phone/tablet) is connected to the Sprocket via Bluetooth. Sometimes, reconnecting can solve communication issues.

  • Turn Bluetooth off on your device, wait a few seconds, then turn it back on.
  • Ensure your Sprocket Studio is turned on and nearby.

Restart Devices: Power cycle both the Sprocket Studio and the device you're printing from.

  • Turn off the Sprocket Studio and your phone/tablet.
  • Wait about 30 seconds, then turn both devices back on and try printing again.

Update the Sprocket App: Make sure you have the latest version of the HP Sprocket app, as updates could contain bug fixes.

  • Check for updates in your device’s app store.

Reset the Sprocket Studio: Sometimes, resetting the device can clear persistent errors.

  • Remove the paper and photo cartridge.
  • Use a paperclip to press the reset button located within the paper roll compartment for 3 seconds.

Clear Print Queue: Clear any pending jobs in the print queue that might be causing a backlog or freeze.

  • Open the Sprocket app, go to the print queue, and remove any stuck print jobs.

Check Power Source: Make sure the Sprocket Studio is properly connected to a power source and that it's receiving adequate power.

  • Try connecting to a different power outlet or use another power adapter.

Review Paper and Cartridge: Ensure that the paper and Sprocket cartridge are correctly installed and in good condition.

  • Remove and reinsert them to ensure proper alignment and contact.

I hope this helps.

I tried everything you suggested AND STILL SAME ISSUE!!!!  Please consider providing another solution or help us who now own a “brick” for our quick photo printing.  Never had this problem in the past and as another mentioned, printed 3 photos then everything after goes to print que. - paused.  Even worse in my case (and not mentioned by another) is that the print que show nothing.  The down arrow is gone (indicating empty) and I cannot access it even though the app shows it was sent from the app que for printing and a label comes up saying, “printer que is paused.”  There has to be some way to “un pause” the printer, but I sure cannot find it at all.  Big failure in the app.  PLEASE EXPEDITE A FIX. (And yes I have the latest version and firmware)… Thanks.

I’ve still not been able to get this resolved. I was able to print one photo after going through all the trouble shooting steps over and over more than 5 times. I’ve even tried downloading the app on my work phone and still nothing. I’m thinking I have an expensive paper weight.

What is really weird and irritating is I have never had any trouble, but admit, I haven’t used this printer for over 4 mos.  Today I go to use it and all this trouble starts, so I have to think it had to do with some software upgrade (downgrade IMNO) that occurred.  Hopefully, they can “upgrade” and fix the issue.  It is definitely an issue that renders the printer USELESS and makes me very angry since I have a good supply of paper/cartridges, etc. that can’t be used or returned. UGH!

Agree it’s super frustrating and I have a huge pile of paper and cartridges. I’ve been itching to print vacation pictures.

While I appreciate your suggestion for seeking support at a HP service center, I absolutely don’t think there is anything wrong with the printer, but rather it is AN APPLICATION FAILURE.  To emphasize my position, why would the app hold unprinted pictures that are there when you open the app in the “App Que?”  Also, the pictures as myself and many of the writers have stated never make it to the printer, but rather fail within the app itself.  I am unaware of any service center providing app support, just hardware, so I renew my request that an  HP developer (of the app)   take a look at the SOFTWARE since this only began after (as I found in my case) an app update which occurred a month ago, with version 2.80.38.

This doesn't seem to be working for me either,  tried 3 phones and an Ipad.  Clearly an application problem.  Worked a couple weeks ago.  Time to escalate.

HP Recommended

Absolutely!  I completely agree.  Tried on both Ipad and IPhone and, until the release of the latest update OF THE SOFTWARE/APP, it worked fine, and the app itself clearly shows that is where the problem exists since it no sends the photo from the app queue to the print queue.
