Sprout by HP
Microsoft Windows 8 (64-bit)

We just had our 3D capture stage delivered to us today and we're super excited, but we're running into a few difficulties. For some reason, the scan seems to be occurring on the first screen: all those black and white lines are showing up on the computer monitor rather than the Sprout Workspace (this goes for both with 3D capture stage and without 3d capture stage). The Capture app works fine still, we're able to take photos of objects. But the 3d Capture just doesn't seem to want to go to the second screen. Not sure what to do.  I'm running Windows 8.1, I've installed all the updates HP Assistant told me to.  Any ideas?

Hi,

Please update to Win10 and then update to the latest version of Workspace.  Here's the link to SW and Drivers website:

http://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/sprout-by-hp/7471144/model/7471145

- make sure that you select Win10 as the OS

- Scroll down to Software-Solutions and click, you can download the latest version of Workspace 1.5.3.2919 Rev.H

With this new version, the 3D scanning is much faster than the Win 8.1 version and also creates a better image as well.

THere is also a video that would show you how to do 3D Scanning with the HP Stage (in the tutorial container on the far right hand side) or you can use this link to get to all the videos:

Hi @smillersbjc ,

Let's try a few different things...first, I know you updated in HPSA, but did you update the Sprout software specifically? Here's a document describing how to do that: http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c04630171

Have you changed any of the display settings? There is an option to put the vertical screen image on the touch mat and vice versa.

With the 3D capture stage, make sure you have it plugged into the lower USB port on the right side of the Sprout.

Were you able to successfully use 3D capture manually before you got the capture stage?

I was hesitant to update to Windows 10 because I was told not to by HP representatives, but I updated the OS as well as all the drivers/bios and everything works 100% better.

Thanks!
