HP SLATEBOOK X2

HOW TO CONVERT HP SLATEBOOK X2 FROM OS JELLY BEAN INTO KITKAT OR MUCH LATEST VERSION?

should be pretty straightforward if the hardware supports the upgrade. Connect your tablet to its keyboard and to the power adapter. Just follow along with the video below for the mobile phone.

The Slatebook x2 design is around five years old now. It looks like HP might have stopped issuing software updates for it around four years ago; a disappointingly short but not unusual duration of software updates for Android devices around that time. Even today, premium Android devices other than Google's Pixel range often do not receive more than two Android major version upgrades.

It is theoretically possible for a third party to produce a new firmware based on an open-source version of Android, but the age and condition of the remaining devices (not least worn out batteries) together with the likely limitations on available drivers for the internal components will almost certainly mean this never happens. Amateur efforts peter out for even popular devices after a while, as the pool of remaining devices dwindles and the hardware falls increasingly behind new models.

I had a quick look online. So far as I can tell, HP stopped issuing updates with Android 4.3 - the last of the Jelly Bean versions. There was a little third party development effort, but that seems to have petered out in 2015 as people moved on to newer devices. If your Slatebook is usable to you as it is, I'd stick with the last HP ROM. If Jelly Bean is too old for your purposes, you have nothing to lose by trying the third party ROM even if you finish up bricking your device or it turns out to be too unstable to use. After all this time, you may struggle to get any support with installing the third party ROM and the chances of any bugs being fixed after all this time are very low.

Google has tried to ease the burden on manufacturers of producing updates to newer versions of Android, but the bulk of these improvements only came in with devices first sold with Oreo, which are going to be not much more than a year old. These changes will do nothing to help an old device like your Slatebook.
