I downgraded to 2013.08.08 Build 4980 and while I got the engineering mode to always display 3 decimal places like I wanted it to(didn't change anything other then number format to engineering 3), the touch screen wont work anymore and I cant update back to the newest version because the hp prime connectivity kit wont detect my calculator so is there any way to update my calculator?

This should work:
1. Make sure that the firmware files that you want to flash into your Prime are in the "C:\Users\yourname\Documents\HP Connectivity Kit\Firmware" folder (or whatever the equivalent of that path is on your computer).
2. Using Windows Explorer (not Internet Explorer!) open this folder: C:\Program Files\HP\HP Connectivity Kit
3. Unplug your Prime from its USB cable.
4. While holding down the Symb key on your Prime, poke a paperclip into the Reset hole on the back of your Prime. Keep holding down the Symb key until "HP Prime recovery mode" appears with the hp logo. Then release the Symb key.
5. Connect the Prime to your computer using a USB cable.
6. In the Windows Explorer widow displaying the Connectivity Kit's files, locate the file called Updater.exe and double-click it to run it.
Wait for the updating to finish. If the firmware files are the recently released version, you'll now be able to use the Connectivity Kit and won't ever need to use the above complicated method ever again.
Hope that helps! If not, let us know exactly what you did and what happened (if anything).
Disclaimer: I don't work for HP. I'm just another HP calculator entusiast.
