Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)

Hello I am getting a error code and message: a required device isn’t connected or can’t be accessed.

error code: 0xc0000185.

I have run a quick test on diagnostics and it has failed on “hard drive short DST check”.

I would really appreciate some help with this problem if anyone has any ideas!

thank you

@Heners93 If the test for the hard drive failed, it should have provided a 24 character failure ID, I'd appreciate if you could respond to us with the same, so we can decipher it and find out what the error is about, most likely a hardware malfunction, the only other thing you can do, is to contact HP and provide the failure ID to them, so they can help you out, to do that, I suggest you talk to HP support and discuss your options, follow the below steps to get started:

1) Click on this link - http://www.hp.com/contacthp/

2) Click on Sign-in or select the product using the below step:

3) Enter the serial of your device.

4) Select the country from the drop-down.

5) Click on "Show Options".

Fill the web-form, to populate a case number and phone number for yourself!

Also, if you are having trouble navigating through the above options, it's most likely because the device is out of warranty, if yes? please send me a private message with the region you are contacting us from, here's how private messages work: Click here for details.

@Heners93 Thanks for responding with the correct failure ID, I've managed to decipher the same and it represents the code: 303 (Hard Disk 1 Quick Test Failure), as I suggested earlier, please contact the support team to discuss the options available to get the drive replaced as mentioned earlier:
