Dear Sir od Mdm,
I am a f"an" of HP calculators with RPN notation.
Since you still manufacturing the HP12 F why you also do not re-launch the HP 11C or 15C?
These two calculators, specially the 11C were the best cientific calculators that HP manufactured.
Extreme low battery comsumption! Fantastic desing and size. Nice keypad layout.
All these new graphic calculators with very advanced functions make no sense since all this things can be done today in PC with much more comfort.
The new HP 35 is nice but the size is not OK.
Please think about that. I have many friends on engineering field that share this opinion.
We engineers love this calculator that provides all functions we need and are in good size to work and carry with us.
Many thanks

I agree with you. I had an HP 11C and thought it was a great calculator. When it finally gave up the ghost after years of hard work in tough conditions (I am an engineer working inthe Middle East) I wanted to buy another one. Computers had arrived by then and I found it impossible to obtain any HP calculators over here. I have finally tracked down (through the internet) an HP 35 S and have put out an order for an HP 12 C.

I ordered a new 15C Jan 04, 2012 and received it not long after that. Similar to what others have said, I do observe that the f and g keys are a bit loose, which surprises me given HP's reputation for high quality. I'm surprised by how much lighter in weight the new 15C is compared to the old 16C.
First thing I did was to write a program to simply count incrementally just to compare how fast the new 15C is compared to my 30 year old 16C which still works great. The program is simply the following:
000 f LBL A
000 STO + I (Add X-register value to Index register)
...
STO + I
GOTO A
I had as many STO + I instructions as memory would allow (I know there are other ways to write this program, likely easier to enter too, I was just playing around/)
Then to run the program I entered
1 ENTER
R/S
It's clearly very fast compared to the old 16C however, when I attempted to run the program overnight, I found the calculator turned off the next morning and saw the display Pr Error when I turned it on. Also, the program memory was empty. I see no signs of a low battery indicator and the Calculator works fine unless I run this program over a prolonged period of time. By contrast, I've only replaced the 3 "button" batteries in the 16C once in 30 years of near continuous daily service.
I've contacted HP support and I was wondering if anyone else had witnessed similar behavior?

Hi dcutler1958,
There have been a few problems encountered on the 15C LE, see:
HP-15C LE (Limted Edition) Bug Reports
Your problem seems to be point no. 5.
For more discussion on the 15C LE (and many other HP calcs):
You can also llok in the archives (in particular archive 20) for discussion on the 15C LE.
By the way, about your second post:
You can edit an existing post to add such details or
you can create a "signature" line in your "user settings", which (if I recall correctly) also gets added retrospectively to all previous posts in this forum community (can be irritating if you want a new sig without changing previous ones, but useful in instances such as as this).
Kind regards,
BartdB

HP15C LE just released in Australia. Excited but now quite puzzled. Three keys are faulty. These are multiply, plus, and E+ keys. I need to press in the centre of the key and ensure finger pressure is reasonably firm. The Pus key can repeat as well.
There should be no issues on the keyboard. HP ... what is going on?
I was also dissapointed in the physical material of the keys - their sense of touch, the material they are made out of. Not the same quality as the original HP15C, but the keys on the original are admittedly harder to press than the Limited Edition.
I'll see how the Australian seller responds on warranty next week but wanted to see if there is any feedback in the Forum before that call. Thanks.
Cheers,
Laurie

I brought my 12C on last Monday night and the `f` key were no response at all on last thurday morning. left an email to the CS but they urged me to perform coin reset but it is in vain. after sending them the result and purchase invoice. they asked me to contact the local support here in hong kong after the Easter hoilday. fine. just did it.
Called their `local` support (it`s actually in Shanghai, somewhere 2000km away from HKG) and followed the instruction of performing a auto self test of `*` + `on` . the device hang at `running`. they call back 2hours later and told me that my case deserved a unit replacement.Great
Just received a parcel from singapore , it's a replacement unit but it is not a brand new replacement. it is a refurblished unit of a previous version (the old one using 3 pcs of LR44 while the new one is using 2pcs of CR2032. this is a scratch mark made by an opening tool on one side. this refurblish unit also with a noicey keyboard just like a sound bottle when shaking it.
frankly speaking, i am not happy with this experience.
i have a 42s and a 32s, they are both working fine nowaday and their keyboard provides me with very nice feeling and texture during prolonged operations.
