I cannot install the HP Lap Dock wireless settings app on my Elite X3. According to the Microsoft Store, the app is not available for my device?

Hello,
I'm experiencing the exact same issue where the HP Lap Dock Wireless Settings in the Windows App Store says "This app is not compatible with this device." I recently purchased the HP Elite x3 for Verizon through the Microsoft Store. I wonder if the Verizon version is not compatible with the HP Lap Dock Wireless Settings app. Is yours also for Verizon?

Mine is an unlocked version. My problem was caused by restoring a backup from a different device (a Lumia 950XL) which somehow convinced the HP that it was in fact NOT a HP. I did a hard reset without restoring any backups and my problem was solved.

I too painstakingly tried a hard reset on my unlocked HP Elite x3 for Verizon. Looking under Device information in About, the Model specificially states "HP Elite x3 Verizon", so I think you are right. The HP Lap Dock Wireless Settings app is looking for a regular HP Elite x3.
I also tried to recovery the device using the Windows Device Recovery Tool. According to HP, this software may be used to pull the original image from a repository for recovery. However, it consistantly fails. Again, possibly because of the "Verizon" specifics of this phone, such unique firmware to open up the Verizon bands. The Microsoft Lumia 950 and 950XL had the capability to operate on the Verizon bands, however, Verizon would not allow them to connect up to their network.
If this is the case HP, would you mind opening up the HP Lap Dock Wireless Settings up to the Verizon version of your HP Elite x3?
Thanks!
