Hi All,
I have HP slate 6 voice tab which is having 4.2.2 version.
I want to upgrade it and as per the below link :
http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?cc=us&lc=en&softwareitem=ob-129797-1
I have tried steps but it is getting stuck in Fastboo Mode. not letting me choose the language as described as below : (as per link)
1. Download update.zip and copy the file to a micro-SD card.
2. Power off the device.
3. Remove the back cover.
4. Insert the micro-SD card into the slot.
5. Replace the back cover.
6. Press and hold the power and volume up buttons for 8 seconds.-- ( got fastboot mode here) and stuck..
7. Press the power button to choose language.
8. Use the volume up and volume down buttons to select Apply Update from the external storage option.
9. Restart the phone tablet when the update is complete.
Another thing which I noticed is that application/game name is not appearing completely on screen. like "Temple R"
"Candy cru" etc. Any idea....
Please help me out..Thanking you in advance.

Hi cisrtr, welcome to the HP Forums. The easiest way to update, is just to set the device to update automatically. It is possible there was an issue with the SD card at the time of your initial restore attempt.
Are you able to perform a reset with the tablet powered on? The instructions for that process are here: Performing a Factory Reset on Your HP VoiceTab (Android 4.2/Jelly Bean)
If you can successfully restore it back, then you can get updates in the System settings. Touch About tablet / System updates / Check Now to install any available system updates.
Let me know if that works.

Hello HP,
Thanks for the reply.
I dint understand what could the issue be there with SD card. Please confiirm as I have purchased the new SD card and it is working for other mobiles.
Regarding automatic update, I did it already but it is still showing the android version 4.2.2. I am getting message that system is upto date. But, I am talking about 4.3 version and the link mentioned in my post says the same thing.
Also, the name of application or game is appearing almost half, like " Temple r" Saga Cand" Hp Prin etc.. on 1st screen.
Please help me out.
Awaiting your kind reply..
cisrtr..

Hi cisrtr. The image provided does not specify 4.3, it specifies Jellybean. If the automatic updates are stating you are up to date at 4.2.2 then you have all the available updates that are available.
In regards to the names being truncated, this is the expected behavior. Apps with long names will display this way when there isn't enough room to appropriately display the entire name.
I do not know what is causing the failure when trying to load the image from the SD card. It seems like the possible causes are the file, the card or the slot that the card is in. You can first download the file again, to make sure your first one is not corrupt somehow. You can also try a different SD card to make sure there isn't an issue with that card in your Slate 6.
I hope this clarifies the situation for you.

Thank Admin
Rooting your phone instantly voids your warranty. See this post at the beginning of the list of messages that explains HP's policy.

I'm in pretty much the same situation.
The voicetab is locked (kids fooled with password) so I went to hard reset it.
Instead of the opportunity to hard reset, I get "FastBoot Mode" instead.
What can I do to unwind this mess?
