Thank you thank you thank you. Can't beleieve how well that works. Have needed to use it 2 or 3 times now. I fear my device is on its last leg though. Kindle will not open to the book I am reading unless I rebott every time I want to read.

My HP touchpad touchscreen and buttons are unresponsive.
I just opened it a few days ago and after charging the battery, created a webOS username, connected to wifi, and then started a system update. After downloading the update and initiating the install, the device stopped working.
I've tried the 5 tips suggested here: http://www.webosnation.com/tips-revive-dead-touchpad
None of them have worked.
The device still restarts if I hold down the home and power button together. However, once it reboots, it returns to its unresponsive state.
When I plug in a charger, the screen turns on, but it is still unresponsive and the buttons are still unresponsive as well.
The battery is fully charged.
When using the webOS doctor to reset the device, webOS doctor is unable to locate the device even when it is tethered to my computer.
Any other options?

hold the discard button which is on the right part of the screen if your facing infront of the screen, and then there is a on/off button on the left side, hold/press them simultaneously and wait for the screen to turn off, then you can now release the button from pressing/holding, then wait for a 2 to 3 minutes for your device from booting up, then if the device finishes from booting up, well you will know if the boot up is finish if the hp logo on the screen disappear, then you can now enjoy using your device.
hopes this help everyone............peace out.....:manlol:
