I get how to do everything but how to launch the file.

I don't know whether this would be useful to you, but I have one of the Split X2s that has had repeated problems with the keyboard refusing to function.  I am not as adventurous as you seem to be, so I sent it back to HP -- 3 times!  I believe they replaced the hinge all three times.  They certainly did so the last two times.  The laptop would work for a few months, then the keyboard would fail again.  I have not used machine heavily, so it typically failed when I needed to do my taxes.

Given the lack of reliability, I have concluded I need to buy a computer from a different manufacturer.

It koos to me that this thread is total keyboard failure. My issus is just the 9 o l . keys. I tried reinstalling the drivers which helped for an hour then the keys went intermittant then dead. I suspect hw failure as the machine is three yr old now also the failing keys run in a diagonal on the keyboard. I was ambitious enough to take the battey off then saw that the keyboard is burried. I don't want to dig that far into it with out looking for known fixes first. Any help from this thread? I just posted on the other x2 keyboard thread, but wanted to check here first before diving into the web at large.

Thanks Commodore 64 and forum!.
After dealing with same issue for days, tried your suggestion to separate the keyboard from all power and any other connections for at least 30 minutes.

Reconnected power and joined screen and keyboard and working fine. It's only been 24 hours working now but prior to that nothing had worked. I will update if problem returns.

Overall I'm not impressed at all with this split x2.
Ive owned for 3 years, originality purchasing specifically for a 2 year project where the split aspect would be helpful. Never could use it at all because for first two years the screen would lose touch after 5 minutes. And the unit wood not process through 8.1 update as a potential fix. Hp support kept walking me through remote assistance reloading 8.0 and firmware. Finally someone posted to disable Bluetooth devices before the update.
Now.. for first time in 3 years, both touch screen and keyboard functions. And I missed being able to use this investment for the original purpose.

Hp, you lost my business.
