Hello
What a treasure trove of info!
So i followed the guide to a tee on my HP Stream 8 Tab and Installed Ubuntu MATE 32-bit 17.10
The Wifi is working and the unit is quite responsive, very usable
No sound so i tried
https://github.com/plbossart/UCM and used this command to copy it and then rebooted: sudo cp -r UCM-master/bytcr-rt5640 /usr/share/alsa/ucm
that was successful but there still isnt any sound
the rotation isnt working for me so i tried
xrandr -o right xinput set-prop 'Goodix Capacitive TouchScreen' 'Coordinate Transformation Matrix' 0 1 0 -1 0 1 0 0 1
The first command worked but the next one said Goodix not found.
So anyone got any advice on getting these working, if so i'd lkove to hear as i nearly have quite a usable tab again
Cheers Rob.

> UPDATE - 24 June 2017 - Audio is working and the 4.12 kernel supports Wifi now
First of all, I'd like to thank you for your EXCELLENT job Kyle!
Following the update below, my HP Stream 7 has now sound functionnality but I can't use any headset because the autodetection does not work. Do you have any workaround in order to let me switch from speakers to headset manually?
Have a great day!
Christophe

Rob and Christophe, thanks, I'm glad that some people are still reading this thread.
Rob, Copying the firmware files for the sound card should work, it does require a reboot. You should see the Built-in Audio device under the Hardware tab of Sound Preferences, you can test it there also. If you are using VLC, I had to go the VLC's Audio pull down menu and then Audio Device and switch it to the Built-in Audio playback device, it defaulted to the Atom Graphics device on my Stream 7 which I think may be HDMI audio which the Stream doesn't have.
I just tried the below commands to rotate my screen and it worked, I'm not sure why it's not working for you, maybe there is a difference with the screen for the Stream 8, I'm not sure:
xrandr -o right
xinput set-prop 'Goodix Capacitive TouchScreen' 'Coordinate Transformation Matrix' 0 1 0 -1 0 1 0 0 1
Christophe, Yes the autodetection for the headphones does not work but you should be able to switch to them manually in Sound Preferences => Output, I have two Built-in Audio devices there, I had to select the lower one and there is a Connector selection with Headphone playback, Speaker playback and MonoSpeaker playback options. These worked to toggle between the headphones and mono speaker in my Stream 7.

Hi Kyle,
Tried again after a fresh install and got the sound woring using this script ==> https://goo.gl/U7FB8I
pretty much does the same as you suggested.
the touch rotation i have working by copy and pasting your example in the terminal but when i create a .sh and chmod then when i run it the touch remapping works but the screen doesnt roate (the first command) do i have to do something different in a script (run elevated tec?)
soo close with this....
thanks Rob.
also found a good keyboard:
sudo apt-get install matchbox-keyboard

Rob,
I do not currently have a script to rotate the screen, I have just been running in portrait mode lately. I did have a script for it in the past however and it worked without a problem. There was nothing I had to do to it other than make it executable. Does it give an error when the first command does not execute?

Hello,
have you found an "OTG USB hub" that allows to connect USB devices and at the same time to charge the tablet ?
Because I would have liked to use the tablet as a server under Linux !
In advance, thank you for your reply !

Hey @kyle_b
I tried the fix on the first page for Unbuntu 17.04 32 bit. The drive is now seen, but I get the selected boot device failed. Press Enter to continue.
Any suggestions?
