PalmSDHC [beta] allows Palm TX, T5, LifeDrive, Zire72, Zire 31, and E2 to read/write any card up to 32GB. You may read about it and get it here: http://www.palmpowerups.com/readarticle.php?article_id=11

NOTE: Dmitry is charging $35.00 US for the Beta, but only $20 for the release version.

Bit of a strange Business model...?

Better than charging 200 for a device and not including support for the latest expansion cards. While I owe nobody any explanation as to why I price my products the way I do, there is in fact many explanations I've posted, like here: http://www.palminfocenter.com/comments/7518/ (a few comments down) or here: http://www.1src.com/forums/showpost.php?p=1052730&postcount=1137 (this post) or here: http://www.palmpowerups.com/readarticle.php?article_id=11 (second to last paragraph)

Interesting project, Dmitrygr

You mention on your website that Palm OS can read cards greater than 4GB but does not accurately reflect the size.  You called it a cosmetic problem.

An earlier post in this Board says that, if you are writing to the SHDC, once PalmOS reaches 4GB, it starts writing over the first files written to it.  In other words, an 8GB card would still only hold 4GB at any one time.  Is your experience different?

I take it you aren't writing drivers for TREO?

I have three 2 GB SanDisk cards and they all work flawlessly in both of my TXes.  One holds just music, one holds TomTom maps, and the other holds my backups and videos.

Try soft resetting the TX, then reinserting one of the 2 GB cards.  Also try using the Card Info application to see if it will allow you to Format the card in the TX.

I have no idea where you got this info, but it could not possibly be further from truth. PalmOS reads and writes big cards fine. PowerDrive-enabled lifedrives have used 32GB CF cards fine, and i can read and write al my files on my FULL 16GB sdhc on my TX. Cannot vouch for treo - Palm Inc drivers are always ranging in quality between "it's lucky it works at all" and "what CS101 student wrote this?"

WyreNut, I'm about to get a Treo 750.  I've looked at all the posts in this thread and am confused by some conflicting info, and wondered if you knew of any other threads that said for certain what this phone will reliably support. If the Treo doesn't already have the upgrade to WM6 (or 6.1??) I plan to upgrade it before I do much anything else...

I saw a post saying someone used a Kingston 4GB mini SDHC.  A few others talked about using 8G cards in other devices.  I want to get a card but don't want to have a useless one!  Nothing else I own could use microSD...

Thanks!
