HP xw4600
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi! I have a problem with audio on my computer.  I recently updated it to Windows 10 x64bit and since than i have no sound. When I click on the sound icon down in the tool bar, trubleshooting pops up, saying my computer needs to be restarted, but when i do restart it nothing happens. When I check for sound in device manager, there are 4 Nvidia High Definition Audion devices shown, but i assume that Realtek Audio is missing. I've already tried to install drivers for Realtek and installation goes through, but once the computer is restarted at the end of the installation I stil don't have Realtek in device manager or sound for that matter.

I am using HP xw4600.

Thanks!

Hello @bp813

Not sure whats going on with that old machine XP machine but as you found out, HP doesnt support Windows 8 or 10 on it.

The specs say those models also came with a Creative Sound Blaster audio PCI card. Are you sure it doesnt have one of those? If it does, this driver might help...

Hi, I have wx4600 (and older xw4300) with windows 10 64bit. Audio is working.  In control panel I have only (High definition audio). And work correctly via audio jack or via hdmi graphics card. Do you have nvidia gpu?
