the following worked for me:
Solution Provided
2. Unplug the charger from the wall outlet
3. Patiently wait for 10 minutes
4. Plug the charger to the wall, connect the charger to your HP Omni 10. And that should do it.
The reason why you have to unplug the charger and wait for 10 minutes is because the HP charger has built-in protections, if it senses surge or anything like that, it would disabled it self unless it is unplug from the power outlet for a while, and it would resume working again. This is what happen to HP Omni 10 today, Hopefully this solution will help anyone with an HP Omni 10 tablet not charging problem.

I can confirm that this works for at least some charging issues. On two occasions, my tablet has refused to charge for several days. I tried unplugging the tablet and waiting a few hours, which didn't help. Both times, unplugging the adapter and allowing it to "rest" got it working again. This is consistent with your observation about built-in adapter protections.

Just curious for this solution if anyone can confirm that before doing these steps if the tablet recognizes the charger is plugged in or not. So when you plug it in does it say on the battery notification "Plugged in, Charging." or "Plugged in, not charging." or does it not recognize it is plugged in at all?

Solution worked for me.
Had power outage yesterday. The charge was plugged in, but, not the Omni 10.
Went to charge last night and no charge indicated.
Left plugged into charger overnight and did not charge.
Came here and found the solution above. Left charger unplugged for 15 minutes and then tried charging. Showed charge on plug into tablet.
Thanks

I have an issue with my Omni 10 where the charge connection between the charger and the tablet is very finicky... works in some orientations and not others. Poor redesign. Anyone know if this issue has been fixed? Perhaps HP is offerent a charger with a slighly larger connection diameter to fit into the tablet more snugly? Really annoying when I plug the tablet it only to return to find the battery dead because it wasn't making a good connection.....

i have had two omni 10 ,the first one lasted 6 months as did the second one .
first one the camera would not work and the then the tablet would not boot up .
Second one the charger went and i got the red x on the battery,so it just drained the tablet .
Ihad the battery charger tested and it was faulty as was the mother board that controlles the battery .
I have found the soulation to solve this problem with all HP omni 10 tablet ,.
BIN THEM ALL AND SAVE YOURSELF THE WORRY ,Then go buy an ipad you will be so glad you did .
