To everybody, I have received a call from HP Repair Center today. The caller said that they finally got a new motherborad for me after 2 month waiting. They have checked that the bios is come with 1.04. They said they will call me again next week. I suggest all of you can try to send your tablet to HP and tell them to downgrade the BIOS.

Older FW has various bugs and issues with Win 10. Older firmware fixes the touch lag issue but causes other problems. HP need to just fix the FW problem whihc at this point it's obvious they won't

yes. but they don‘t.
I don't think there is a perfect atom cpu tablet on the market even the larger size tablet. Just wait for the snapdragon win tablet that will be released this year.

I've had a Surface 3 for a year now after returning two 608's due to the touch screen/wifi issues they had and the Surface 3 has been a really great stable tablet

surface always is the standard of what should windows mobile device like. So it shouldn't be worse. At least not worst. Why we bought 608 g1? I think most of you are need convenient. Surface is too heavy for me even not pro version.

I wanted a smaller form factor tablet too but none of the 8 inch Cherry Trail tablets were any good. I bought 4 of them and they all sucked so I had to go the Surface 3 route. I wish it was smaller but it really is pretty thin and light and in the end worked out well for me.

I hope M$ will take out surface 4 with snapdragon 835... this is my dream but I do not think MS would update their surface product line. 😞 anyone know that Will snapdragon 835 support amd-64?
HP Recommended

The Surface line will be getting updates, Intel scrapping Atom put a delay in their plans. MS has announced the ability to run Win32 programs on ARM through emulation so we should be getting Snapdragon 835 Surface tablets with better battery life, smaller form factor and the ability to run Win 32 programs.

Intel really screwed over the small form factor Tablet market by botching CherryTrail and then ditching the entire Atom line instead of just trying to improve it. Looks like MS will be trying to save it by allowing Win 10 on ARM to run Win 32 programs.

I need win-64... I hope 2nd Win ARM tablet can be support it. Intel is go down from the peak cause by themselves. If amd or ARM work harder, Intel will gone XD. You can see the new kaby lake is as same as older  model...  I hope we can get the smaller win tablet with great battery life.

Everybody, I have got my hp pro 608 g1 replacement a week ago. It comes with 1.04. Than I update it to 1.06. So far everything is fine after I install the driver correctly. No battery drain (idle uasge 1-2 % / hour), No touch delay, and free storge upgrade. I am happy with this new tablet. Although I wait it for a long time, it worth. I hope you can try to send it to hp that still in warranty period. Have a nice day. Let see what we can buy this year that with snapdragron cpu. I need mini tablet for work.
