One option to transfer files between the two would be Google Drive. As long as both devices have the Google Drive program installed, the files would be synched between the two devices. This has been one approach I have used and find it simpler than using a USB cable. I can drop the files I want on my Android device in the Google Drive folder on my Windows PC and it is accessible in the Google Drive app on my Android device. If it is something that I want physically on my Android device rather than in the cloud, I just use the Google Drive app to download.
The specifications found here does not indicate the tablet portion has a USB port of any kind. I would venture to state that a microSD card (on the tablet), an SD card ( on the base), a USB device, or cloud storage are the intended methods to transfer files between the Slatebook x2 and the device.
If anyone finds that there is indeed a min-USB port on the tablet portion, feel free to update this thread.

HP made several big mistakes.
a) several BIG NAME apps (Instagram, for example) show the device as incompatible and Kindle app crashes
b) using USB without including a microUSB port TOO
c) Proprietary charging port obviously chosen to make $$$
d) NO extra chargers to sell
e) NO car chargers
f) NO sep. charging cables I can use with the charging block of my choice.
g) See c) if I return this it COSTS them money as they pay shipping, no restock fee and chargeback fee to credit card.
Oh, and no GPS??? I can live without it but why should I?
I've also heard rumors the glass is NOT Gorilla Glass; can anyone confirm?

Just got mine today. It seems like HP support knows less about this device than we do. I think this is an awesome device and extremely powerful and we might just need to be patient for HP to catch on. Fixes that need to happen:
1. They need to simply create usb drivers for the device so that windows will recognize it as a device.
2. Make a usb cable that adapts to the unique port that connects the tablet and the base/base and the charger.
With these, the option to tinker this device will increase dramatically but until this happens, I guess we are stuck waiting.
