THanks for the suggestion. I applied all the updates (HP and Windows) last night and rebooted several times. The latest updates did not fix the issue. The last thing i did was to apply this registry change (i made a backup beforehand).

Also, the Windows 10 OS tablet mode is not the tablet mode in question. I was speaking of the physical change from laptop to tablet mode by flipping the keyboard around.

As a side note, i dont like the Windows 10 OS tablet mode. It does not fit my needs.

Checking "Allow the screen to auto-rotate" in Control Panel\Appearance and Personalization\Display\Screen Resolution revived autorotation.

However, creating register HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\AutoRotation and setting Enable didn't ungrey the "Rotation Lock" functionality.

Just performed a clean install of Windows 10 and found that the "Intel Virtual Buttons Driver" is what removes the rotation function.  Not exaclty sure what the driver is for, but removing it also un-greys out the option to lock the rotation under screen preferences.

Hi,

My spectre x360 is just back from repairs. Got a new motherboard 😞

When i sent it to HP it the rotation was just doing fine. Now it wont rotate. I tried everything above!  Please help me out. x360 without rotation is just nog fun!

Also when i look in my system my panel turns op as a PNP and not als IPS?

All help is welcome

I'm in the same boat! After I received mine back from repair (new motherboard as well) the auto-rotate and tablet/other modes no longer work.

wow that sounds not very promissing:smileyfrustrated: What was wrong with yours? My had 3 faulty usb ports. If I connected any 3.0 usb it throwed them out. Also went it returned my screen is kind of blury

Did your laptop go to Poland as well? Mine was sent there from Holland.

Mine had a problem that was power related. It wouldn't accept any charge, to which I was hoping it was just the a/c  adapter, but after buying a second one I had to send it in. And I'm in the US, mine was sent to Tennessee.  I haven't noticed any other faults since it's been returned.

Same problem with mine. Had to be repaired due to a problem with the battery charge, loosing 5% battery with the computer turned off in a 20 hour period. They replaced the motherboard and now, not only the battery problem remains, but the rotation feature is also disabled. I don't even have the option available in the Action Center. I'm running Windows 10 (updated from 8.1).

I'm not sure if the problem is software or hardware related. I have all the updates installed and rebooted several times. Is there a way I can check if the sensor that detects the rotation of the hinge is working? Is it possible the motherboard replacement screwed it up?

HP Recommended

I downloaded a sensor app in the windows store "Sensor Checker" and it says they're no sensors present 😞

Tomorrow i will doe a clean instal with windows 10 pro. If that helps i will let you know.

Could you please check what your screen is. In settings it says it is a PNP and it must be WQHD (i7 version)

HP Recommended

OK, will try the app when I'm at home tonight. My screen is FHD, the i5 version. Hope your clean install does the trick.
