Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I ran the HP diagnostic and both the video memory fastcheck and the extended video memory tests failed.  Is there anything I can do other than contact HP support and try to get them to replace an apparently defective memory module?

Hi @chillytoes12

Welcome to HP Support Forums. A really great platform for posting all your questions and finding solutions.

I see that the Video Memory Fastcheck and the extended Video Memory Tests failed.

I would request you to contact our Phone Support for Service Options

Step 1. Open link: www.hp.com/contacthp/
Step 2. Enter Product number or select to auto detect
Step 3. Scroll down to "Still need help? Complete the form to select your contact options"
Step 4. Scroll down and click: HP contact options - click on Get phone number and phone number appear.

Thank you 🙂

HP PC Hardware Diagnostics Windows:

Video Memory Fast Check FAILED (no Instance or FAILURE ID).....result took several minutes.
Video Extended Memory Check FAILED (no Instance or FAILURE ID)....result took about one second.

I have windows enterprise 64-bit installed on G72t-200 CTO Notebook PC with a big SSD. The video has always and continues to appear perfectly OK. So, what does this result mean? Should I ignore it as a false result? Should I remove the Hardware Diagnostics app since it does not seem to work on my platform?

Any clarification appreciated.

Hi,

Used HP PC Diagnostic Windows 1.5.2.0 to test my Desktop HP Pavillion P6000 ( Model : P6755a ) & 'Video Memory' indicated it FAILED. There was no Failure ID ?

I did this original test to check my RAM which I hope to increase from 1 x 2gb plus 1 x 4gb to maybe 2 x 4gb. I am still an average PC leaner so was checking to see what type, brand & details required to change over to purchase these sticks ! I am also going to format this ssd x 256gb drive as I have a number of software programs that have errors ( this program has stopped working ) so thought if formatted & returned to original factory setup this will correct those problems.

Please advise.

Thanks Dennis.
