@Faisaly9275,

Thank you for posting your query on HP Community,

According to the product specifications it shows that your PC has been shipped with 802.11b/g/n (1x1) and Bluetooth 4.0 combo Wireless card.

Here's the Maintenance and Service guide this will tell us which are the cards which are compatible and tested on your notebook.

Chapter 1. Product specifications - page number 2

Chapter 3. Illustrated parts catalog - page number 16

It looks like only these card has been tested with the computer and dual band wireless cards have not been tested by HP. There is no white list as of now for this specific computer.

Please note, these are the parts which are tested on your PC, If you wish to try other parts you can try it at your own discretion, HP Doesn't recommend any upgrade/downgrade of any hardware parts or software that is bundled with the product. It may affect the manufacturer's warranty and performance.

  • You could consult a local Best Buy or Staples technician or any local tech to check if the dual band wireless card is supported by the computer. It should be supported although it has not been tested by HP.
  • The best option at your disposal is to go for a USB dual band wireless adapter and that is economical and cost effective. It does the trick for you and can be purchased online or locally for a song.

Next thing, regarding the frequent wireless connection issue, let's try these steps:

1. Open CMD with Administrator

2. Type:  sc config storsvc type= own

( this resets this service to its default state )

3. Restart the PC.

4. Check if this fixes it.

I recommend you try to follow the below steps:

Go to Device manager > select the WIFI drivers under network adapter> Right click go to properties  > Under properties go to Power Management Tab> Uncheck  "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power".

If it does not, please visit this link for further support: HP PCs - Troubleshooting Wireless Network and Internet (Windows 10)

Next thing, I would suggest here is to uninstall the wireless drivers from device manager:

Right-Click on start button> click device manager> Network adapters>then select the wireless drivers and right-click on it and uninstall the Wifi drivers.

Then restart the computer and check if you are able to go online.

Finally, please update the bios, chipset and wifi drivers from this link: http://hp.com/drivers Please select the country and follow the on-screen instructions.

Also, download and install HP support assistant on your PC. It should automatically download and install the latest updates and drivers for your PC.

Refer this link to know how to use HP support assistant.

Let me know how it goes!
