Was hoping for a Microsoft correction and new Update by now, but not yet. Microsoft released its first Cumulative Update for v1511 this past week, but a new initial v1511 Update that applies to HP devices has not been released yet. Still waiting.

Don't know if it is directly related to this topic, but over the weekend, 11/22/2015, Microsoft removed the Windows 10 Version 1511 Update from their download servers. Though the new v1511 Update was been installed on millions of computers in the last week, including three in my office, there have been some problems along the way, including my ElitePad. Stay tuned. I'm sure a re-release of v1511 will eventually become available.

According to some sites though, they only removed the download via Media Creation Tool. You are supposed to receive the update eventually as an official statement says that the update is being released in stages, so keep your fingers crossed and hope that you guys see it in your Windows Update.

I upgraded my Pavilion 610-1250xt to Win 10 Pro, with zero issues, when it first became available. When the November update (Build 1511) was released, I installed it on a variety of computers and virtual machines (VMWARE Workstation 14, Parallels 10 on an iMac, Apple Boot Camp, Dell Vostro laptop, Dell Inspiron AIO, etc) with no issues. For some reason, however, I cannot install the update on MY computer. You know, the one I sit at every day and do the bulk of my work on.

I've tried every fix I can find on the internet: MicroSD card removal; External USB device removal; shutting down unnecessary services, removal of ALL USB devices, removal of all HID devices except touchscreen, etc. etc. etc. to no avail. Over the course of the past month or so, I must've tried 10-15 times and it hangs at the same exact spot every time. Upon reboot, it successfully rolls back each time with no damage to my PC BTW.

For now, I'm done with this ridiculous issue. I can't believe for the life of me, though, no one has figured this out yet. I fully realize it is not the end of the world, only a mere annoyance, but the fix or workaround for issues such as these are usually arrived at by us...the users.

Please post a fix if you've figured this out. Please DO NOT repost the same tired solutions that are not working for the lot of us. We've all checked our SD Card slots and confirmed they are empty.

Thank You !

Finally, a fix for me! I used the latest Microsoft 'MediaCreationTool' (dated 11/13/2015) to download and create a 'USB stick' upgrade media (1/8/2016). <NOTE: created my USB stick using a Win10 laptop.> The created USB stick contained over 3GB of upgrade content. First booted my ElitePad into my original Windows 10 upgrade OS, then inserted the USB stick in my ElitePad. Launched 'Setup.exe' on the USB stick to start the upgrade process, and left the USB stick connected until the upgrade was finished; several restarts part of the upgrade. Once Setup.exe launched, a blue-background menu proceeded and displayed 'Checking for Updates' for over 15 minutes (checking for updated drivers, etc.) then proceeded to the Upgrade Process display (Progress Circle GUI). The Upgrade Completed in about 90 minutes without a hitch. So far, all features and programs are intact. I'm assuming either HP-related drivers got updated (finally) in the current 1511 Build, and/or the latest created USB stick media works where the Microsoft Update (via Microsoft Update servers) has an issue. For me, this solved my v1511 upgrade issue. I hope this helps others.

Mine hangs at 95% (82% of configuration) and then fails witha message 2nd Boot Phase failed  PRE_OOBE and two error codes 0x8007002C-0x4001E and then reverts to original OS ie. Windows 10 in my case. However, the reversion has badly failed leaving me with a very odd situation of having no normal Windows 10 features. For example, nothing happens when I left click on the Start button and I have "lost" IE or Edge as it now appears to be called. I can still use my PC ( an HP Envy 700 series) via Windows Live Mail and Google Chrome but all Microsoft apps etc. have disappeared. Can anyone help please?

Do you have a Restore Point or Backup image you can apply from your previous working Windows 10? If so, that may restore your system to a working Windows 10 configuration. It sounds like there may have been some configuration problem prior to your attempt to apply the v1511 update. Disconnecting external devices, USB devices, and potentially microSD storage cards has been recommended prior to applying certain updates.

Well, my TS610 FINALLY upgraded to Build 1511. It only took 15-20 attempts.

For the record, my AV & AM apps were enabled and all of my USB devices remained attached and, for the love of GOD, no SD card was inserted.

I completely disassembled it last night for a entirely different reason. It needed a thorough cleaning, especially the main system fan. It sounded like a jet readying for takeoff...but I digress.

While I had the PC apart, I decided to remove the AVerMedia TV tuner card and swapped out the wireless-N NIC for a wireless-AC (Intel Dual-Band Wireless-AC 7260).

Once it was reassembled, I checked Device Manager and the NIC was already installed, however two of the built-in Bluetooth devices needed drivers. I did an online search with no success then searched the entire C: drive (and all subfolders) and both devices were installed.

Prior to going to bed, just for kicks, I popped the Win 10 v1511 DVD I had created a while ago, in the drive and started the install process. I've done this before only to wake up to the dreaded 40%/23% failure message. I woke up today with ZERO expectations and was pleasantly surprised to see the upgrade had finally completed.

To reiterate, I made two changes to the PC...tossed the TV tuner card and swapped the NIC. One of those two (or both, but I highly doubt it) devices was preventing the upgrade from completing.

As we have all seen/read, there is no one solution to this complete **bleep** problem but here's yet one more thing to try.

Best of luck...Rock
