Does your setup include the keyboard base or do you only have the tablet part?

I would think the base should still work in bios settings.

To clarify, if you can navigate the bios with the keyboard base (arrow and enter keys), then the numbers should also work.

When it asks you to type the 4 digit code, it will not display on the screen.

You just type the numbers and hit Enter.

Is this not working?

I have the keyboard, but it doesn't appear to be working as it does nothing when I type the code

I just turned it off and on again to get a new code and tried again with the keyboard plugged into the charger, but still nothing is happening

OK.

and if the keyboard is not attached, there is no one screen keyboard that appears to enter the numbers?

If it wont work either way, you will have to attach an OTG USB adapter and 4 port USB hub to the micros usb port on the tablet and connect a corded USB mouse/keyboard.

They are cheap to buy online.

BTW: How did you create the USB installer? Was if from another Windows 10 PC with UEFI enabled in bios settings and using the MS media creation tool?

Yes that is right. No on-screen keyboard and nothing happens when I type on the physical keyboard that belongs to the tablet. I created the Usb installer using another laptop, and using the MS creation Tool not sure if Eufi was enabled though, how do I check that.
I wish you had informed me that this might happen as I cannot really afford to purchase another keyboard and now I'm left with a non working tablet.

Hold on... that has nothing to do with the keyboard not working!!! I just asked in case you used another method that would perhaps hinder the usb drive from being recognized afterward.

There is one other method that might work that another expert found. I will post details when I get the info.

If you do not wish to use the clean install method, you might be able to upgrade Windows via this method. Although it won't leave you with as much free space as a clean install will.

Make sure you free up as much space as possible.

Start up Windows as normal.

Open a Command Prompt as Administrator.

To do this…

  • In the Search bar (Cortana), type the letters CMD.
  • Press and hold both the Shift and Control keys, then press Enter.
  • A window will pop up asking if you want to allow this app to make changes…  Click Yes.

In the black window that opens, type these two commands...

net stop wuauserv

Press the Enter key.

net stop wuauserv.JPG

net stop bits

Press the Enter key.

Close the window to exit.

Browse to C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution folder and delete all the files and folders inside.

Go to Search and type Disk Cleanup. In the list that opens, right click on Disk Cleanup and choose to Run as Administrator.

When the box opens asking what drive to clean up, C: should already be chosen. Click OK.

Select all the boxes and click OK.

Insert a USB drive at least 8GB in capacity. If you only have the one USB drive you used to make the Win10 installer with earlier, format it first as NTFS.

To do this, right click on the USB drive and choose Format. In the window that pops up, make sure the file system is NTFS.

Download the MS Media Creation Tool directly into the USB flash drive.

NOTE: You are not installing Windows to the USB drive. Only save the Tool (MediaCreationTool.exe file) in the USB drive.

Now you need to temporarily make the USB drive the default location for the Downloads folder.

Make a new folder in the USB drive named Downloads.

Open Windows Explorer and right click on the default Downloads folder.

Choose Properties.

Click on the Location tab to select it.

Click the Move… button, then navigate to the new Downloads folder in the USB drive and select it.

Click Apply.

Now go to the MediaCreationTool.exe file in the USB drive and run it.

Choose to Update this PC and make sure to choose to keep your files/data and programs when it asks.

When done, go back to Windows Explorer and change the default location of the Downloads folder back to where ever you had it before.

On your new thread, you say its stuck on asking the code for disabling secure boot?

Can you go get into the bios?

If so, reinable Secure Boot, save and exit and see if it will stop asking for the code?

Or reset bios to defaults.

Rapidly tap the Esc key for the startup menu. Then F10 for bios.

Does it let you in, or is the keyboard not reacting now to any commands?

If the keyboard is not reacting at all now, something glitched in the board for some unknown reason.

I think you better wait to buy a hub, keyboard and such without knowing if the bios will reset now.

I would first remove the battery and hold the power button down for 15 seconds to do a Hard Reset to see if the board will reset.

If you feel inclinded to do this, here is the instructions on how to disconnect the battery. Only need to disconnect the wire, not remove the whole battery.
