I am unable to install windows 10 update on my HP stream. I want to factory reset so I can give this to my sister. When I tried, it failed. The message stated failed and took me back to the message about the update.
I have removed all personal files to flash drives. I do not understand some of the instructions given by other users about the windows updates.
I used the F11 and power button to get to the option for factory reset. I just want my sister to have the updates for windows before giving her the laptop. I will never purchase another Stream.

Welcome to the HP Forums 🙂
I would like to take a moment and thank you for using this forum, it is a great place to find answers.
As I understand you need help with factory reset procedure for the HP Stream,
Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, however, to provide an accurate resolution, I need a few more details:
What is the product number of your device? Use this link to find it: http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c03754824
(Ensure you do not share any of your personal information such as serial, phone number, email ID, etc...).
Have you attempted to make use of the HP recovery Media since the F11 didn't work?
Did you get any error codes along with the message when the recovery didn't go through?
While you respond to that, here's what I need you to do:
The best way to identify & resolve the issue is by using the HP Guided Troubleshooter:
Click here to access it (simply select your description of the issue from the bottom of the screen to gain access to the next set of steps that should resolve your concern).
If you don't have a recovery media in your possession, please Click here to obtain one.
For steps on using the recovery media: Click here
Keep me posted,
If the information I've provided was helpful,
give us some reinforcement by clicking the solution and kudos buttons,
that'll help us and others see that we've got the answers!
Good Luck.
