HP Pavilion 22cwa 21.5-inch IPS LED Backlit Monitor
Microsoft Windows 11

My monitor does not seem to be recognized by Windows 11 and I am unable to get to any monitor settings. If I press any button on the monitor I just get a message "OSD Lockout". I searched the HP site for an updated driver to no avail. Help!

PS there is no "board" for monitors...under other , there is only tablets and mobile Devices or Sprockets (whatever that is)

Hello, and Welcome to the HP Support Community!

OSD Lockout has nothing to do with Windows 11.  It may be just a coincidence.  Please view the following link to unlock the On Screen Display:   https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c01932183

The issue is that I cannot access the settings menu on the monitor! there are 4 buttons (plus the power button) on the bottom of the monitor. I does not matter which I push...I get the OSD Lockout message. I need to pull up the menu and am unable to. Would sure appreciate some way to contact HP support.

Can I assume you tried the method explained in the link I supplied?

(Press the menu button for over 10 seconds to unlock the menu?)  The User Guide for your monitor says this:

OSD Lockout is displayed.

The monitor's OSD Lockout
function is enabled.
Press and hold the Menu button on the side panel for 10
seconds to disable the OSD Lockout function.

Of course I tried that. The OSD Lockout message does go away after holding for 10 seconds, however; I can still not access the menu! I touch the menu button and the OSD message returns.

Looking again at your User Guide, I found this:

Button lockouts
Holding down the power button or Menu button for ten seconds will lock out the functionality of the
buttons. You can restore the functionality by holding the buttons down again for ten seconds. This
functionality is only available when the display is powered on, displaying an active signal, and the
OSD is not active

I'd try powering off and disconnecting the power cord for about a minute.  Press the power button for a few seconds to drain any residual charge.  Reconnect the power cord, power on, and try again pressing button #1 (the Menu button).   If that doesn't solve the issue, try pressing the Power button for 10 seconds!

If still no joy, contact HP.
