Stream 8
Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)

The tablet does not switch between the front and rear camera.  It only shows the rear camera.  I had Microsoft support tech remotely logging in.  He checked the camera driver and reloaded the latest.  No change.  Then he "rolled back" the driver to the previous one.  Surprisingly, it then switched and showed only the front camera (no way to switch to rear).  Then he reloacded the latest driver, and it went back to rear camera, with no means to switch between front and rear.

Any advice what should I do?  Any camera driver for Windows 10 20H2 that would allow switching between front and rear?

Yeah, I kind of anticipated that this will be the outcome.  Windows support told me that the only way is to check with HP whether HP has some updated drivers, and as there are none, Windows Update is not going to help either ...

Thanks anyway, even for a bad news.

Welcome to HP Community

I have gone through your Post and would like to help

I suggest you download and run the HP Support Assistant from this Link: https://www8.hp.com/us/en/campaigns/hpsupportassistant/hpsupport.html?jumpid=va_r602_us/en/any/psg/p...

HPSA will automatically search for all the latest drivers for your Notebook

  1. Click My devices in the top menu, and then click Updates in the My PC or My notebook pane.

Click Updates in the My notebook pane

  2. Click Check for updates and messages to scan for new updates.

Updates list in HP Support Center

  3. Review the list of updates. Updates with a yellow information icon are recommended. Updates with a blue information icon are optional.

  4. Click the update name for a description, version number, and file size.

  5. Select the box next to any updates you want to install, and then click Download and install.

Also ensure Windows is up to date.

Select the Start  button, and then go to Settings  > Update & security  > Windows Update , and select Check for updates. If Windows Update says your device is up to date, you have all the updates that are currently available

Keep me posted how it goes

Thank you and have a wonderful day 😊

Hi KT,  HP have abandoned support for Stream 8 tablets long time ago.  I have the HP support app installed, and I have not found there any updates for I guess couple of years.  Seems that this product is no longer supported, inlcuding the drivers etc.

The funny thing is:  When I turn the tablet on, the Windows 10 camera app works well but only with the REAR camera.  When I ask for driver update, it tells me that this is already the latest driver (that is called Intel AVStream Camera).  However, if I do windows "Roll back", it goes back to previous driver (calls Intel(R) Imaging Signal Processor 2400).  It works well again, but for change only with the FRONT camera.  And if I do driver update, it will reinstall the AVStream Camera and will be working again but only with the REAR camera.  The "latest" AVStream Camera driver differs marginally from the previous one (Imaging signal Processor 2400) that the Windows 10 camera app. includes panorama, document and whiteboard options, baside the camera only.  But neither dirve will allow the camera app to switch between the front and the rear ... I think I am out of luck.

Unfortunately since it is an older product there is no specific driver updates. Any further updates for the device will be coming directly through the Windows updates
