Envy 34 curved all-in-one PC

Hi,

Similar topic was posted on 04-11-2019 but it was not solved (https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Desktop-Video-Display-and-Touch/No-video-output-in-monitor-mode-HP-Env...)

I have an all-in-one PC (HP Envy 34 curved) and I want to connect my PC with GTX 1070 graphic card to HDMI input in Envy and I want to use it in monitor mode. Idea was to use both machines through the same display. The HP AIO for everyday usage and the gaming machine for gaming only, by using “monitor mode” input on the HP Envy, so it was a fast and seamless switch.

However, no matter what I try, I cannot get them to talk to each other and the HP screen ends up in sleep mode, as if there is no signal. Here is what I know and what I’ve tried:

-Gaming PC isn’t faulty. I have verified by plugging it into an 4K TV and it loads windows on there.

- Monitor (HP Envy AIO) isn’t faulty (?). I can plug a laptop in using the same HDMI cable and it successfully and without effort, displays my laptop on the AIO screen. But! Laptop has an intel graphic card. My gaming PC also works with HP AIO in monitor mode but ONLY on integrated Intel grapfic card.

-HDMI cable isn’t faulty (because of point above) and I’ve tried 2 others, for good measure.

-If I boot the gaming machine when attached to the AIO monitor and it’s “listening” in “monitor mode”, I see the splash screen of the BIOS loading on the HP envy screen. Then as soon as it would load windows, the screen blanks and I get monitor mode going to sleep. After that it is hard to bring back AIO to PC mode. Sometimes it is necessary to unplug power adapter.

-have checked that the GPU is correctly seated on motherboard of the gaming PC

-ALL  drivers in gaming PC are most up to date

-ALL  drivers in AIO PC are most up to date

Does anyone is able to help me? 🙂
