HP X360 1040 G7
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi there,

a few days ago the rubber feet on my HP X360 1040 G7 (product number: 9VL09AV) started to peel off. This happened roughly one month after I received the laptop.

I think it is due to the heat near the rear rubber feet. However, I think this is not supposed to happen to such a premium device which is only used for 4 weeks. Further, it is not possible to put the rubber back in place as it is already quite stretched.

As I found out, similar incidents happened to other HP devices earlier such as here:

https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Hardware-and-Upgrade-Questions/Rubber-foot-peeling-off/td-p/6...

For other notebooks, the "rubber feet kit" could be found in the manual (see for ENVY here: http://www.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c02160120.pdf , page 20). However, for my laptop no such separate kit to the base enclosure was listed (see: http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c06715368 , page 30).

Do you have any suggestions to fix this? The HP support was unable to send me just the rubber as I only have pickup & return warranty. I'd need to send in the device for roughly two weeks, is that my best bet?
