TYPED TEXT DISAPPEARS BEFORE MY EYES ALL THE TIME WHILE TYPING EMAIL MESSAGES OR ANY TEXT AT ALL, REGARDLESS OF APPLICATION -- WORD,  NOTE -- ANYTHING

This is a problem occurring on a HP Notebook, Model HP 15-ay041wm, Intel Core i3-1600U Processor with Windows 10 64-bit.

Praying someone can tell me why and how my text disappears in front of my eyes while I am typing and what I can do to fix it.  This happens any time I type any text on this laptop.  I can be composing a fresh email in AOL,  etc., or a reply in a message box on a website, or while creating fresh documents in Word or Notebook -- basically ANYWHERE I try to type text?  This happens SO many times, often after I've spent hours carefully composing a document or  message, sometimes happening 5-6 or more times while re-typing the same message.  I just don't understand it.  I'm never aware of hitting any extraneous keys, no delete key, etc..  All of the text, every blessed letter, just simply disappears -- poof!  (I won't be surprised if what I'm typing now suddenly also goes into the "black hole" as well!)  It's not like the entire screen goes white, only the text which I typed vanishes, everything else is there.  This is so frustrating and time consuming.  (As an example, there is one email, an emotion-producing letter I have tried to write repeatedly over the past few months, yet every time I try, after several hours and paragraphs, the box goes blank.   It's then days before I can bring myself to start again from scratch, only to have it happen again.) This happens no matter what I'm doing.  To put it bluntly, no matter what the task, any time I'm typing, there's a 90+ percent chance that it will disappear before I ever reach completion and can save the item.

Each time this happens, I quickly try to "undo" it in hopes of retrieving the text, but the "undo" is gray-shaded, indicating there's nothing to "undo"!

This has been a problem since I first got this computer. In my 67 years, after using many, many computers, I have never, ever encountered a problem like this.  This laptop was a Christmas gift a few years ago, in appreciation for some volunteer work I had performed.  The person who gave it to me said he purchased it from Walmart, along with a two-year extended warranty for it, but he lost the receipt (I think it was the old-school, didn't want me to see how much he paid for it mentality, at play), so I was never able to take advantage of the support, always left on my own to try to figure out and solve issues as they arose on this machine -- not good since my tech skills have deteriorated due to other life situations  (Ugh!)

I have the sensitivity of my keyboard set to its lowest setting, so there's no answer to be found down that path.

I know there are hot keys that do different things if we hit one of them by accident but, from what I've read, none of them have anything to do with deleting text.  And no, the already typed text cannot be found in Drafts or any other box.  And if I'm in a website's "reply" box, that's not even an option.  It's just plain GONE!

Can anyone explain this?  Has anyone experienced this and found a "miracle cure" for the condition?  I wish to heaven I had the money for a new computer.... with all the time and emotion I've wasted on this one single issue through the years, I'd love to just toss it out a window and start over fresh, with a new computer, complete with tech support.  Unfortunately, that's just not an option for me.  I'm a senior on an extremely low fixed income.

There has to be SOME explanation for what is causing this, and certainly there MUST be a way to recover the vanishing text right away.   To the best of my (questionable) knowledge, the laptop is up to date on all of its updates and drivers.

Can't tell you the number of times through the years that I've tried all types of Google searches in hopes of coming up with a cause and solution, but can't find a thing. I just can't take this anymore....  Life is too short.  As I said, if I had the money, I'd get a new machine and start anew.

How I hope one of you very tech-savvy folks can help this old lady mount a successful attack on this problem.

God bless you all, may you stay safe and healthy.
