I would like to protect my computer against the Intel-SA-00086 issue, however, I cannot find a way to do it from Linux.

The Intel Corporate Management Engine (ME) Firmware Component version 11.8.50.3425 Rev.B only has a Windows download with Windows instructions.

The Bios version 01.18 Rev.A only works with Windows.

I am currently running Bios version 01.16, which I was able to install from a USB stick.  The Windows installer worked in a Windows 10 VM and allowed me to create a recovery flash drive.  The installer from 01.18 does not provide this functionality, the flash drive option is greyed out when I run it in the same Windows 10 VM.

Any help would be appreciated.

My computer's details:

Elitebook 840 G3

CPU: i7-6500U

Intel ME firmware: 11.0.0.1202

Bios version: 0.16, 06/08/2017

OS: Debian 9

The computer has HWM Onsite support.
