Hi,
For sure You've got install Windows 7 driver for remote from Windows Update. Right?
So we can't do more with it. There isn't any other driver for it.
It's not so big problem. Users which are supported by HP with this system have troules with using all buttons on their remotes too.
You aksed me about Bios update too. Well I will not recommend bios update. Why? I saw so many problems after this procedure here on forum and I don't want to see it anymore. If You really need to do it because of some problem then it will be better to do it under Vista. Remember to check first Bios discriptions to find out what were fixed in available versions there.
Few things which You need to know:
How to find correct Bios version for Your model on HP sites?
1. Click on Support & Drivers link. (Upper part of this page.)
2. Choose option: Download drivers and software (and firmware)
3. In form:
For product provide Your p/n. (How to find correct p/n informations here.)
4. Click on Go and choose Your system.
Check which Bios version You've got now. This information may be very helpful if ther will be any problem.
How to update Bios:
Plug Your ac adapter to the computer.
Disconnect from the internet. Switch off any antivirus and firewalls.
Then execute the Bios Update exe. It may take some time. Its gonna show the installed version and the updated version. Don't switch off Your laptop, don't disconnect ac and don't do anything on it when this update is running.
Bios update is CRITICAL so be careful, have full patience. Remember too then this step is always very risky and may corrupt Your notebook. You are doing it on Your own risk.
