hpconnectionmanager.exe fatal error - object refereence not set to an instance of an object

I have a fatal error appearing and it only started this week (2/13/2017).  The computer is only 2 months old and this is the first time this error has appeared. 

This is a personal computer, not connected to a business network.

1) What does HP Connection Manager.exe do>

2) How do I fix / correct this error?
