MFP M477

ADF scanning turns up scan results slanted, which seems to be a common problem with this model.

For example:

https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Printers-Archive-Read-Only/ADF-scanning-results-in-crooked-scans/td-p/...

There's mention in several posts on how to get to a secondary menu:

He had me activate a hidden menu by:

  1. selecting Setup
  2. pressing the empty space between the home icon and the question mark
  3. pressing the Return arrow
  4. quickly selecting Setup again

A 2ndary Service menu will be revealed. Perform a scan calibration using the following steps:

  1. select 2ndary Service
  2. scroll down to Scan Calibration
  3. from the new menu, select 600 color ScantoHost

However, this doesn't work for me, and it didn't work for at least one other person commenting on one of those posts.

Possibly adding to the confusion is that it looks like the gear icon gets you to a menu that has Info and Jobs, and has its own gear icon that gets you to set up.  It's not clear from the instructions whether the first menu or the second menu is the Setup menu listed in the steps.

Is anyone able to reproduce getting to the 2ndary menu using these steps on this model?

I have found two other special key combinations to get two different kinds of service menu, but those seem to not be about scan calibration.
