Replying again for another update.... the printer worked for a while and has just now begun a new error code:
F0.01.09.01
Searching this seems to be related to the toner. We have never seen a new printer model have so many issues. The product is so unreliable it's actually damaging our own company's reputation along with costing us time and money for having recommended it to our customers.
Here's the support document if any of you have the same issue start to crop up:

error codes
F0.03.24.02
F0.01.63.08

we are experiencing the same issues here just wondering if you found a solution to this yet. I just purchased this printer for a client and we are seeing similar F errors. We are on the latest firmware available and the person noticed it would not scan. Seeing F0.03.05.02 system setup error and the F0.01.04.0C healthheartbet warnings.

I have not resolved the issue yet JJ. I have a formatter ordered for one and will see what happens. Traditionally, when you see random error codes not defined by a manufacturer, that indicates some type of voltage issue, bad electrical ground, faulty power supply, POE ports dumping voltage, etc. I've removed all the variables from an outside source I can think of and since I'm seeing similar issues at multiple sites on different networks and power systems, that probably rules out external factors. Best of luck to you.

We are on our THIRD unit of this printer after multiple RMA's. I have been through an ordeal of firmware-related lockups and freezing since late October. They have put out several firmware updates, and while those may have corrected a handful of the firmware errors per their patch notes, we are still experiencing the latest round of F0 errors, particularly when printing PDFs, at seemingly random intervals. This is still occurring even on the latest firmware released on 1/15/24 ------ 6.17.2.2-202312091658. Universal printing drivers have not resolved our issue. The experience with this printer has been agonizing.

The errors I am getting:
F0.01.04.0C |
F0.03.13.08 |
F0.03.12.04 |
Have to power cycle printer to get it working. We have 2 brand new ones, and one works fine.
I have the same firmware (6.17.2.2-202312091658) on both machines.
The problem printer had problems installing the firmware, but did eventually succeed.

Just wanted to throw my hat in the ring here as well. We bought our 4301 back in September 2023 and pretty much right out of the box without even being used the event log was showing System Errors of “F0.03.05.02 system setup errors”, and then it would randomly stop faxing, printing, scanning, copying, or some combination of them or all of them would stop. Usually power cycling it would get it back going for at least a print or two, sometimes a couple hours at best, but inevitably it would stop again. The event log during these times was just full of "“Error F0.01.04.0C - App DOX healthHeartBeat reason irregular heart beat at ..."
So we contacted HP Tech Support and spent about 2 months trying all their different drivers, uninstalling the old drivers in between each new driver and install, tried the Universal Smart Drivers, Updated Firmware, basically everything they could think of and still the exact same issue and errors so they finally agreed to send out a replacement Formatter Board. When the HP Tech got here and I explained the situation, he flat out said that a Formatter Board wouldn't fix this but he installed it anyways and we went back through the same rigmarole of FW, drivers, uninstalls/reinstalls with the HP Tech on the phone with HP Support or whomever they get access to trying things they suggested and still the issue remained, so now all the way into February they agreed to send us a replacement printer.
Got the Replacement printer in, I swapped all the toners and such in, fired it up and guess what? System Setup Errors right out the gate. Same issues of it randomly stopping working for no reason, forcing a power cycle to get at least a little functionality out of it, and you don't even have to be using it for it stop working as we have discovered lately too. So I went updated the Firmware and of the few PCs connecting to it, different drivers, and we are still facing the issue. The ONLY change so far is that currently i am not getting the tons of "“Error F0.01.04.0C - App DOX healthHeartBeat reason irregular heart beat at …" that I was getting, however I am getting the errors below fairly recurrently and the issue of the printer ceasing some or all function remains too:
Warning - F0.03.24.02
Error - F0.03.12.04 (3 repetitions)
Warning - F0.03.25.01
Error - F0.03.1F.0B
Warning - F0.01.04.0D
Warning - F0.01.04.0C (25 repetitions)
Error - F0.02.02.03
At this point, I have requested they either send me a comparable, different model printer or a better model printer because it is flatly obvious this model has some baked-in issues that they either can't or won't fix. Since this has been an issue out the box and we have done months of troubleshooting and everything they asked us, I feel like we've done more than enough to prove our case and warrant a flat-out replacement or they need to find a way to resolve the massive issues this model printer obviously has post-haste as we've held up our end, paid our money and our dues, they can more than afford to make this right.
Sorry for the rant, wanted to add another instance of this exact model printer doing exactly the same thing as all the other posters here and said issues have been going on for beyond long enough.

04Hog, No sir, no luck with it being fixed and the tech/rep I have email communications with keeps disappearing. I'm currently running my entire county IT solo so I truly haven't have time to get back on the phone with them for days and days again yet, but this will be the last HP Printer that enters my organization.
I can understand putting out buggy drivers and such, but to refuse to support it properly like they're doing is beyond unacceptable.

Same here. This has been a multi-month cursed saga. We recently had an on-site tech replace the formatter and issues seemed to subside for that evening but returned the next morning. I finally had things escalated to the point where HP were going to issue a replacement of an alternative model because I don't want to ever see another one of these in my life and no joke, they are sending a 4th one of these useless bricks.
