VVX D230

I have discovered an issue on the VVX D230 when you have Local Call Park enabled and use the Call Back feature by setting a CallBackTimer.

The issue happens when your parked calls are automatically sent back to the cordless handset when the CallBackTimer limit is reached. When you answer the call on the cordless handset a static noise is introduced over the top of the call audio that is being sent to the external party. The audio heard on the cordless handset is completely normal. This only happens when the parked calls are automatically sent back to the cordless handset. If you manually retrieve the parked call before the CallBackTimer is reached, then the audio to the external party is normal.

I have also run the packet capture feature to confirm that the static is coming from the VVX D230. You can listen to it in the RTP stream being sent out from the VVX D230.

I have confirmed that this issue happens with the v7.1.1 and v7.1.2 firmware

Forgot to mention that when the parked call has been automatically returned to the cordless handset, and you answer the call creating the static on the outbound audio, you can then park the call again and manually retrieve it to remove the static sound. This is very reproducible and happens when using either of the 2 cordless handsets with my base station.

Hello @Gasmanz ,

Welcome back to the HP Poly community.

Poly D230 latest Firmware is 7.1.3 >here<

To my personal knowledge, the D230 is End of life and End of support.

Best Regards

Hi Steffen,

I don't see anything in the release notes for v7.1.3 indicating that there is a fix for the Call Park issue. I have also spent some time trying to find any official notification from Poly/HP to say that the VVX D230 is end of support. Are you able to share a link to this notice as my customer has over 150 of these deployed across their organisation and needs to understand that they may have to replace them very soon.

Regards,

Graham

The issue still exists on the v7.1.3 firmware. I'll contact the HP support team for this.
