Product: Office Jet 8620
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

My Office Jet Pro 8620 is always reported as "Offline" by Windows 10, even though my Hp Printer Assistant always connects to it fine.  The printer is networked via hard-wired ethernet and is always avalable via internet printing as well. 

 

I finally gave up using the HP driver for the 8620 and 8620 Pro Device name and have switched to using HP ePrint as my default print driver, which seems to have resolved the problem for now.

 

I checked the version of my 8620 driver and HP reports it as current.  Is there a newer driver coming that will address this problem or, as an alternative, is there a generic Windows driver I can use that will correctly report the printer as on-line?
