I have a HP Dock Connector to Ethernet and VGA Adapter (http://store.hp.com/UKStore/Merch/Product.aspx?id=G7U78AA&opt=&sel=ACC) that I use to connect my laptop to an external monitor (HP ProDisply P221) and the wired network. I now want to connect a second monitor (another ProDisplay P221) to my laptop. What are my options? I don't want to buy a full docking station. I read somewhere that a VGA splitter cable would not be useful as it simply duplicates the same display as one sees on the first monitor. I have an HDMI port available on my laptop. Can I use this port with an HDMI to VGA cable and connect the HDMI-to-VGA output to the second monitor? Will this give me a continuous (and NOT a duplicate display)?
Thank you for your help.
