I recently replaced my old printer with an Officejet 4635. I was previously using an HP Photosmart Premium. I think the printers are both in the HP 4630 all in one series.
The wireless setup seems to be working but not working. My computer sees a printer of the appropriate series as ready on the network, and I can scan from the printer and recieve the scan wirelessly on the computer, but when I try to print from the computer. I get nothing. Communication seems to be a one-way street.
I used the various "doctors" and troubleshooting programs, and discovered that I can print test pages from the computer only when it is the "internal test page"; test pages orginating from the computer act as it they printed, but never materialize.
In the course of my 3 hours of trying to diagnose/fix the problem I noted that the printer report lists the IP address of the printer as something different than appears on the printer properties displayed on the computer. I don't know if that is the source of my problems or not. I have already tried all of the usual fixes (unplugging, updating and reloading drivers, deleting old printers that are no longer in use, clearing the printer spool, etc.). None of those things helped.
When I try to connect to the IP address given on the printer via the web. I get an error message saying that a connection could not be established. Anyone have an suggestions what to try next?
