HP Officejet 4630 e-All-in-One
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi,

So I had to reinstall windows from scratch.... that was annoying. I had windows 10 upgraded from windows 8.1. I had the HP Officejet 4630 installed with software and that worked fine before I started the reset. After the reset the all in one installation package refused point blank to find my printer. I trawled the forums for a fix.... I didn't find one but managed to jerry rig my own.... sort of.

I finally got some print capabilities by;

Open Printers and Scanners

Click Add a printer or scanner

Ignore the Printer 'HP-Officejet-46 (HP Officejet 4630 series)'

Wait and click the 'The printer that I want isn't listed' link

Select 'Add a local printer or network printer with manual settings and click next

Select 'Create a new port' and select 'Standard TCP/IP Port'

Type in the IP address of my printer and name in appropriate boxes and click next

Scroll down to HP in the left and select, then scroll down to and select 'HP Officejet 4630 Series Class Driver' on the right and click next

Follow the prompts until done.

That gave me a working printer and scanner - sort of.... if you squint....

HOWEVER THAT IS LIMITED - PLEASE CONTINUE TO READ!

I still don't have the software from HP installed so that I could get scan to computer running or get any of the other functionaity up and working.

When I download the all in one software and try and use it to install the software it fails at finding the printer. I've tried every combination I can think of and none of them work.

The 'Troubleshoot HP Installation Failure - MSI' software thinks that all I'm missing is the actual software - BUT IT WON'T INSTALL! as it won't find the correct printer driver to install first. It can find the Printer perfectly fine, it just refuses point blank to actually install the driver for it.

Please help? Please?
