Recently I've been having troubles with the touchpad on my laptop. My issue was that the mouse was working, left and right clicks were working, however the multi-finger controls (two-finger swipe, three-finger backwards and forwards, etc.) were not working. I tried looking through help forums, updated my drivers, uninstalled then re-installed the drivers...nothing would fix the issue. So I gave up because everything else was working fine.

However, today I opened up my laptop to clean out the fan (completely unrelated-just wanted to clean out a bit of dust-at least I hope) and I swap out a 2gb ram for 4gb ram (totaling 8gb). I put everything back together just fine, but when I turned my laptop back on, my mouse/touchpad and left and right clicks are not working. I have read related posts in the forums and followed their advice-such as installing the driver software and restarting my laptop, but to no avail.

I have tried drivers sp61880 and sp52352. Neither of these worked; after installing them and restarting my laptop, the drivers did not show up under Devices & Printers>Mouse OR Devices & Printers>Device Manager. I uninstalled them after I realized they were not working.

I cannot go in and update the mouse driver because there is currently nothing to update. It simply is not there.

Can anyone help me figure out what the issue might be? Hopefully without having to system restore my laptop.
