Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I think I have a malfunctioning touchpad.  as soon as the computer boots up, the pointer on the screen jumps around continuously, and random programs/window open as if clicked.  This is without touching the screen or touchpad at all.  The only solution I have found is to disable the touchpad and use a USB mouse.  This completely resolves the problem.  I have tried rolling back the touchpad driver without any luck.  Has anyone experienced this before?  Trying to figure out if there is a software solution, or if its bad hardware and need a touchpad replacement
