I have an HP Pavilion DV6 laptop, which originally came with Windows 7 64 bit, with a BD player, model TS-LB23L.
The BD player used to read DVDs and BDs without issues.
After I upgraded the OS to Windows 10, the BD player stop reading DVDs, furthermore BDs.
I think it may be a firmware issue.
The DVDWBD player is correctly recognized in the Device Manager, there are no conflicts whatsoever, but it just doesn't read any disc.
The firmware is 0400, however I've seen some sited listing a firmware update to 0600, although they turn to be bogus.
There's no indication the firmware update is posted in the HP website, which makes me think either the 0600 firmware doesn't exist or it's no longer supported.
Essentialy I have a useless DVDWBD player in my laptop. Either I downgrade my OS to Win7 or get a new player.
I've seen other posts in the forum people have Windows not recognizing the player, but this is not my case. Windows does correcly recognize the player.
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks.
