Hello, I have recently purchased the above laptop and I had in mind to do some light gaming when I am not programming or managing various networking devices at work. The AMD Ryzen 5 2500u cpu works brilliantly and performs very well and the laptop remains cool. However if I decide to do some light gaming with older titles the GPU clocks run at their full speed. The GPU clocks after 3 minutes will drop to 400mhz and the games frame rate will drop from the good 50s to the low 20s making them unplayable. The temperatures of the laptop do not reach 70c and the laptop remains cool. I have ensured that the laptop is all up to date with drivers/software, with the latest bios update now on my laptop. Vega 8 on this laptop as it currently stands does not perform correctly, and light gaming becomes completely unplayable not due to high temperatures. The laptop in general is working at good levels of performance a CInebench test give me a result of 618.
Could a future bios update fix this issue regarding the vega 8 gpu and allow this laptop with this configuration to run correctly? Thank you to anyone that can help with this.
