Hello.
I seem to be having an issue with my wifi staying connected and I was offered a solution by HP Support but it doesn't seem right.
So I have this exact computer
https://www.costco.com/HP-15-Laptop---Intel-Core-i3---Maroon-Burgundy.product.100418441.html
And my issue is that whenever I have my computer connected to wifi it constantly disconnects. If the computer is charging it rarely disconnects, or if the battery is higher it seems to disconnect less.
However when not charging or when it has less then full battery it will disconnect from full bars of wifi every 2-5 minutes. Which I can fix by connecting back to wifi however that will only last 2 minutes of wifi usage, before it happens again.
These things lead me to believe that the issue is somewhere in my setting but I can't find a setting that would cause such as issue.
My previous computer which was way cheaper then this one and worked perfectly with the wifi with no issue, which is why I don't think the solution that was offered was correct. Seeing as this is such an upgrade compared to the last computer.
This was the solution offered by HP Support - your laptop wifi card is single brand 802.11b/g/n (1x1) Wi-Fi® and Bluetooth® 4.2 combo router is the dual brand . thats the reason the network disconnected.
My router is Dual Brand, however as stated my other way cheaper HP computer never had an issue with the connection.
My computer does this more at my own home, however it has done it at my father's as well as at my public school.
Any help would be great. It is still under warrenty but I would rather fix the issue then have to take it in since I do school on this computer.
Thanks!
