Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

This is my first time here so I hope you might be able to help.

My product is now out of warranty but it was cheap whent bought from HP. After an Automatic software update from HP I am now  unable to scan from my computer albeit the printer will scan with manual intervention and I can print from the network connection.

I am using an automaticaly updated version of windows 10.

Using the Print and Scan docor on Print shows 'Device Status' in red and  on Scan shows 'Driver Check' in red.  I have uninstalled and reinstalled the printer software on more than one occasion but it is still the same.

To make matters worse My ink estimate shows almost empty for Black but Ok for colour.  I have installed a new cartridge for Black but it still shows as almost empty.

The HP Printer assistant now only highlights PRINT and will not entertain SCAN.

Sorry to turn this problem into a Saga and I will more than likely buy a new printer, but if someone knows the answer it might help another printer rooky at some time.

Regards

Derick-Mojacar
