How do I get my cursor to stop jumping around my screen? 

Every time I go to use it from the touchpad to click on something it jumps elsewhere on the screen. The arrow cursor disappears and then a diamond star type cursor shows up somewhere else on the screen, It also jumps around the screen while I am typing or not even using it. It's driving me nuts and I really want it to be fixed. It's been this way since we bought the computer in January of 2018.
