Before an HP update on Wednesday 19th June my laptop battery was behaving and charging normally, indicating a constant amber LED light when charging and turning white when fully charged and the screen displayed the battery charge percentage. After the update, rather than displaying the battery saving power mode message and saying to plug in the charger when the battery was low, no message came up and the computer cut out once it had ran out of battery. When I plugged in the charger a flashing white LED light appeared and the battery symbol displayed on the laptop looked different and said it had 100% charge straight after the charger had been plugged in. After charging it for a few hours and the screen still displaying 100% charge when I unplugged the charger the computer cut out. Unless the charger is connected my computer will not switch on.
