Product: hp elitebook 8440p
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

My laptop has a bad battery so it doesn't keep on when on battery only for long and even if it's connected to the charger and battery is in it still shuts down on me, I tried running it without battery and just the charger only but it doesn't power on. Every boot up there's a notification saying the battery is faulty but isn't it supposed to be able to run without the battery? And why does it shut down it's self when I have it on running with charger and battery in ?
