I have without success opened a ticket with HP support and it has not been replied to in almost 2 days. Very distressed on the level of support for Enterprise customers.
Meanwhile, I have no issues with similar EliteBook G2's or G3's using SCCM/PXE boot scenario and Win 10 OSD. The G4 simply no longer connects to the network using either a USB-C adapter or Thunderbolt dock connector after the OS setup step in my TS, so it also then fails to join the domain, and in the case of SCCM OSD then hangs at that point and goes no further. I did not - as I read in previous posts - disconnect the Thunderbolt cable and reset, as we do not have this issue with G2/G3. So, what's missing? Do we not have the correct network driver loaded even after downloading an almost 2 gb driver pack from HP?? I have checked F/W, settings, etc, and no joy.
