I am trying to update the firmware on my HP OfficeJet Pro 8710. This is a recommendation on the HP website to fix potential security vulnerabilities in printer firmware.
The firmware update software reports the printer status as "busy".
The printer network connection is via Ethernet cable.
I primarily use the printer for scanning documents and sending the occasional fax. The printer is working just fine. I can scan a document, send a fax, etc.
It would be nice of the author(s) of this firmware update software included a log that provided detailed diagnostic information. Saying the printer status is "busy" is pretty close to useless information.
